- Class 12 Physics, chemistry and maths, with an aggregate most companies set around 60% and English around 50%.

What is Merchant Navy sponsorship?
Merchant Navy sponsorship is a selection offered by shipping companies to eligible candidates before or during their pre-sea training journey. The company conducts its own selection process, which may include a written examination, psychometric test, essay writing, personal interview and medical requirements.
Does MNOPTA provide Merchant Navy sponsorship?
No. MNOPTA is an independent Merchant Navy coaching academy. We do not provide, sell or guarantee sponsorship, placement or employment with any shipping company. We prepare students for the selection processes conducted independently by shipping companies.
Which stages of the sponsorship process does MNOPTA prepare students for?
Our complete sponsorship preparation covers the written examination, essay writing, psychometric assessment and personal interview. Students can prepare for the complete selection process or take preparation only for the stage they still need to clear.
Do you prepare students for company-specific sponsorship interviews?
Yes. Preparation can be tailored around the selection pattern of the shipping company you are targeting. However, company selection patterns and requirements can change between intakes, so candidates should always check the latest official notification issued by the respective company.
Can you guarantee I'll get sponsored?
No, and neither can anyone else. Sponsorship is decided by the shipping company on its own criteria. What we control is how prepared you are when you walk in — the paper pattern you’ve practised, the essay you can finish in time, and the interview you’ve already sat through six times with us.
Are you connected to Anglo-Eastern, Fleet, Synergy or any company on this page?
No. We name them because students ask us to prepare for their specific selection patterns. We have no arrangement with any of them and we cannot put your name in front of anyone.
I only need the interview. Do I have to buy the full programme?
No. Interview preparation is sold by the session at ₹1,700, and most students book two or three. Choose the leg you’re on in the form and we’ll only quote you that.
Is online preparation actually as good as coming to Dehradun?
For interview and psychometric work, yes – those are one-to-one sessions and the fee is the same either way. For the written paper, classroom students get daily supervised practice, which is why the classroom programme costs more.
